SAKSA 2010 State Titles- Grange Sailing Club, March 6th and 7th.
So pre registrations have closed, we have over 40 competitors and look forward to a great event.
Forecast for the weekend is frontal but looks like there should be plenty of wind in a cross on direction.
As far as the schedule goes, Sat morning signups from 11am. 12pm sharp will be the competitor briefing which is compulsory. Heats will start, wind dependent, directly after the briefing- so make sure you get down early and rig your kites !
Heats will be 2 or 4 on the water for 7 minutes at a time- winners go through to the next round. We are hoping to complete the single eliminations on Saturday and follow them with a big air and best trick comp.
Sunday will kick off again at 12am with the double eliminations. All eliminated contestants will have another chance with the winner of the double eliminations taking on the winner of the single eliminations for the right to lift the trophy ! If the double elims are not completed single elim results will stand.
The double eliminations will be followed by another big air competition and all in expression session.
After the competition Sunday night will be a Party and Presentation night at the Grange sailing club. A chance to cheer the winners, hand out prizes and draw any lucky tickets and then get your boogie on.
All up it looks like a great weekend so come on down for a look or get involved and enjoy the competition.

The link above shows a double elimination chart. The double elimination format gives everyone at least 2 heats and is in line with how all National titles are run.
For the record, the winners from the single elimination sit out until the winner of the double eliminations is decided. They then go head to head. The winner of the single elim only has to beat the winner of the double elim once, but the winner of the double elim has to beat the winner of the single elim twice.

I would like to thank the SAKSA 2010 Freestyle Competition committee, they put on a sick event. It was said many times last night, but the Grange Yacht Club was a heaps cool venue for the event, well done.
Also a you have to thank the crew that put in a big effort to travel here for the event, the crew from Lincoln, Whyalla, Middleton and Barossa.
