Boys, let's hope there is going to be wind this Thursday night! I'll be up there then staying at the Whyalla Foreshore Inn so I'll be right out front of the action!

Finchy,
If you are coming up to Whyalla make sure that you enter the comp.
Entry fee alone gets you a rashie and puts you in the draw for a new kite, good value.

Ohhh... A Rashie and into the draw for a New Kite!! Yep..good value for money there! I will enter... walk around with my New Rashie and try and win with the biggest Crash!

Should be a BIG weekend!

The biggest crash prize may not be the best one to go fore, whyalla is a bit shallow and bones can break, but good luck anyway.

If anyone is coming down early on friday arvo i am trying to organise a downwinder from another beach just out of town its around 7kms and even in 25 kts the biggest wave you will see will just be a ripple. Gave it a run last week and there was patches that were actual glass not a ripple and yes it is actually straight down wind to main beach of whyalla takes around 45mins with lots of mucking around and then can ride main beach till dark or later.

The comp should be sick looks like weather should be just right cant weight to hit that slider again. hope to see you all soon

Current forecast for this week in Whyalla

www.weatherzone.com.au/sa/west-coast/whyalla , click on the detail tab to see the wind info.

If the forecast is correct then add the sea breeze on top of the 3pm wind speed for a possible 30 knots from the south on friday night and a bit less on saturday evening

Hey lads, Won't be able to make the down winder. But absolutely frothing for saturdays comp and the triple birthday celebrations later in the evening.
With what looks like a massive crew from the big smoke heading up and Eyre Penninsula's best riders and drinkers. It's lookn like a F#%KN HUGE weekend is approaching.

See ya soon

Just a small warning to anyone who hasn't kited in Whyalla before.

The blue line (weed line) is full of razor fish, so try to avoid standing up within 5m from the weed line or in the weed

Apart from that, get your liver ready for a BIG night

I heard a rumor that the sliders will have compulsory use of a helmet- so if u have a lid bring it along.

Soooooooooooo keen for the action- forecast is good, game on.

I would just like to make point that it is VERY important that all kites follow the give way rules on saturday as there will be kites everywhere.

In case anyone has forgoten the give way rules, its simple

-Give Way to Liquid Force Kites at all times -

Thats definatly an actual rule I have seen it before somewhere. Its because that to actually giveway you would need to have controll of the kite which is a lot harder on a liquidforce kite.

I second that. Also stay right away from a very loose and unnaturally tanned guy on a Cabrinha IDS!

Nah, I heard that you need to give way to Cab riders, because we rock... And we have way no idea what the hell we are doing.. Just look we have tommy scott on our team, thats enough to explain that we are rulers of the water

So stoked only a couple of day to go....

Gentlemen, Gentlemen, Gentlemen....

Above any petty 'my kite is better than yours'
(I have a Slingshot so words need not be said about this awe-inspiring kite...)

You must of course give way to all ladies on the water!

Chivalry is not dead - it is customary!

we dont need to give way to tommy. his only move is a backroll and the likelyhood of a massive wipeout fromn that is minimal

We will not have to worry about team North. You guys will just drive by the comp area and ride about 5km's further down the beach. That's what you guys do now days

Had an awesome kite with all the Whyalla crew this arvo for a solid 4 hours session in 30 knots winds. FANTASTIC!!! There is some serious talent up here that will give all the Adelaide a good run for their money in Saturdays comp. The boys were all going hard and putting some serious hurt on the line! Can't wait for tomorrows session now and even more so for Saturdays comp!
