Can't better that Mike, 2001 Wipka 8.5 classic 2 liner is the best I can do.
Is that peter Lynn?
Twin handles with strap around ya back?
What was it like going up wind?(looks like a down winder)
What were the kites out the back?
What board were you using?

Wow, kiteboarding evolved so fast. Look where we are at just 10 years latter.

The original delta kite.
One short downwind tack on a boogey board 1994-6 at long beach kingston. must've been blowing 35kts
two liner with elastic handles wrapped around wrists.

I looped the kite to try to get more power, but it snapped, tore and disintigrated.
Only threw it out two years ago.

Must be about a 2.0m.....It was never going to work was it..... but hey, i had vision, i just had to let someone else design the gear

wish i'd persisted now, i could've been like, ben wilson.....but probably would've ended up more like Alex Sanz

The kites out the back are bridled foils.

Most people used strapped surf boards - ahead of their time!

My mate Warren was riding a bridled foil back then. He was trying to get me into kiting but I was surfing too much to have any time to learn. He broke both of his legs at different times kiting at Grange and his wife made him give it up. Now I kite and he doesn't! I keep telling him the kites are different now but his wife wont let him.
