By the number of posts put up on this site I feel there is not much kiting going on in the state.
Myself, I haven't been able to get out in months and am starting to get massive withdrawals.
What is everyone getting up to in this kiting hiatus?

Yep I have the same withdrawals doogs. Just waiting for less winter wind and better water temperatures. I have my light wind kite now so I'm going to maximize my time on the water :)

Water temperatures dont bother me, I'm willing to accept a bit of shrivelage if it means a kite. Not keen on the crappy wind we've been having though.
I only have the 11m kite. I'm assured it could get me up in 12kts but bugger me if I can get it to happen.

I'm sure all those non 9-5 workers are able to get some time on the water. For everyone else like me, its a once in a blue moon occassion when there is suitable wind on the weekend.

Ok so what I'm picking up from this is that the keen kiters find time to get a kite in, even if it's raining, gusty and 3pm on a weekday.
I guess I'm classified as one of those summer kiters then. Hope summer comes early!!!

go to Mauritius!

or Fiji or Cocos or Hawaii!

Mauritius was fun, my next destination is back to Adelaide.

Im hoping the seabreezes and downwinders are as good as I remember.

For those keen to catch some winter fronts and don't mind a bit of a drive - there is usually a lot more wind down South in winter then there is in Adelaide.

There's been several weekends this winter when there was kiteable wind at the Murray Mouth (also Goolwa/Middleton/Victor) and Adelaide was dead or marginal.

ALso - the further South you drive the stronger the fronts, sO if you're really keen (or should I say "desperate") for some decent wind then Lake George (and Beachport/Robe area) frequently gets 25-30+knots and is less then half a day away:

(from Google - Lake George S.A.)

Would love to pneucube but the 1 hour + trip to work from the Barossa doesn't leave a lot of spare time

Might have to organise a trip down south one weekend.

Yep same scenario with me.
Went down to boggy lake on saturday to try and get a session in. EPIC FAIL. I dont care what anyone says, an 11m kite is not big enough to kite in 10-12kts.
