Thanks Jas. Lots of prizes arrived just in time today, and every competitor will receive prizes regardless of their results. The event will be a fun experience and a start of a new direction for the sport. Winners will receive the State's title at the end of the season series. Thanks for all the volunteers and sponsors (Liquid Force, Best, Blade, Starkites, Takoon, Wainman, CrazyFly & Flysurfer kites, ASK, Aleeda & Triple-X Wetsuits, Kite-Aid, Aquapac, IKO, AKSA, KBM, Kite Mag and 4ZzZ. Without their support, this event would not have been possible. Speical thanks in particular to Azam, who flew in yesterday from Singapore to act as our Race Director. Azam has just completed his duties at the Juniors Olympics last week.
28 entries received for the first series. If no wind tomorrow, it will be postponed to Sunday, if no wind Sunday, it will be postponed to the following weekend. Come and watch our best in action!
Sorry Jas, Jacob only called me on Wednesday 22nd Sept, asking if he can enter. At such time it has long past the entry deadline (5pm Sunday 19th Sept), and the draws were already drafted.
We have riders from as far as north as Cairns & Mackay, as far south as from NSW entered in the event, so we have to play it fair. His teammate JP submitted his entry well before the deadline so their team is well aware of the event and deadline dates. Jacob would be most welcome to enter the second series provided he puts in his entry before the entry deadline.
Can you post the dates and deadlines on here so we dont miss it next time. I dont remember reading anything on here to promote this one. Cheers.
Will do. The first series was posted in the news column on Seabreeze over a month ago, and NOR & entry forms were available to download also about a month ago from the frotn page of our website.
I think you can get a bit caught up in the whole rlues and regulations with racing. It takes the fun out of it, as no one is racing for sheep stations. I guess if a sponsor wants to hold you to wear there clothing in there event thats up to them. Its like the pro surfers wearing sponsor shirts in an event. I cant wait for the racing on the 13th and 14th of November. As someone who has never raced i wouldnt hesitate in going in this because it for FUN and thats what the sport is all about. If anyone wants details on this comp go to Kite Power or Bris Kites for details. Its very laid back and Free for AKSA/BKC members.
