Hi RosieKB,

I'm down this way (mornington back beaches) in a couple of weekends time. Can I ask where your forecast / wind measurements come from? I'd like to check closer to the time so I know whether to bring my kit :)

Thanks,

snelly

Hello, Snelly,

Wind forecast:

http://wind.willyweather.com.au/vic/mornington-peninsula.html
then pick your spot at the bottom of the page. No idea where they are picking the forecasts from.

I prefer:

www.bom.gov.au/marine/wind.shtml?location=vic-mel&tz=AEDT
and work the time and day sliders. At least this is ???official???.

Swell forecast:
www.swellnet.com/reports/australia/victoria/mornington-peninsula/forecast.

You can backtrack and find that there is a forecast for Flinders, too.

Hope these help.

I went this sunday morning... but it was only 6-8 knots... boo.

A lot of gnarly reef out there, so if you do go, keep your tricks for behind the breakers!
