Did a nice downwinder in about 15 knots from Mentone to Port Melbourne (about 30km) as training for the upcoming Across the Bay to Conquer Cancer (about 60km as the crow flies).
Going straight downwind is a whole new skill set compared to edging upwind.

Looks like a nice new kite there Peter (I thought I remembered Cabrinhas in previous pix).
How long did it take?
Yes, a nice new kite - a Lithium 12 - and I am loving it. Super smooth, turns like a 10, pulls like a 14, super easy relaunch and no hint of backstall or hindenbergs. Good boost too.
The downwinder took me a bit under 2 hours, but I did a tack back towards Parkdale before I headed around Ricketts.
I am going for a Franskton/Seaford start next time.
