hi Guys,

don't have a car for this Sunday but still would like to go kitesurfing as Sunday's forecasts look nice.
Anyone keen for carpooling? I live in Richmond but can meet to your nearest train station.

Phone number: 0451518221

Julien

Speaking of, I guess you guys heard a swimmer was killed by a jetski in Port Melbourne on Friday. I suspect the cops will be clamping down on boating zones thanks to that.

what are jet skis doing near beaches? they have the ability to go where ever they want, but they insist on hanging around the shore breaks.

Yes, the Jetski accident is a tragedy and will certainly have repercussions for policing with respect to regulations for water craft 200m from shore and in proximity of swimmers. It is still not clear if the accident happened in the protected area that stretches 1.2 kilometres from Lagoon Pier to Kerford Road Pier.

How did the session at Rye go? The wind charts looked good.

It was good. I arrived 8:30am. The wind had lightened off so I put up my 10 and then put the 7 up when it picked up again. Most of the people seemed to be on 9's until I left at 12. It looked like the wind died again at 12 so not sure what it was like after that.

Was good although it is not my favourite spot. It seems that the wind is always funny, but could work on my duck tack skills :-)

Otherwise, glad to see more chicks getting into kitesurfing..that brings more smiley face on the beach

See ya.

PS: could not imagine getting so many replies to my post

Rye/Rosebud can be like that on a northerly. In summer they sometimes refer to it as the dirty northerly because its a little gusty. Also depends on the wind direction as more easterly in the wind can cause it to be more gusty.

I've had some of my best sessions in Rye.

Yes, its great to see some posts about kiting . . .

Back on Jetskis, here is an article about one that nearly took out a poley, complete with helmet cam video footage.

Jet skiers should have a dedicated area, some where which is not in the bay. Look what happened in sydney, jet skies got banned from the harbour all together.

That pollie was very lucky, if only he could chase him down.

Hi julienoz

Thanks for showing me the spot at rosebud... YES...chicks in bikini kitesurfing... :).
Hardly see any at Altona or st kilda. Had a good session and thanks for the tip on staying on the board.. i need more practice at getting more speed.

If you ever need a ride to a kitesurfing spot let me know happy to kite with you.
