Don't get your hopes up too high, wind has been woeful lately
I always find the BoM Marine Forecast Explorer more accurate:

Or their new MetEye:

get set to get your posts deleted if you suggest any weather forecast other than the one available on this site
Once bitten......
Don't bother looking at seabreeze forecasts

Rosebud is looking great for thursday, shame I am working. Although I have been feeling a bit unwell lately "cough, cough" it might be wise if I take Thursday off work ;)
just returned from an amazing day, rosebud all day 10 meter power up. Tomorrow I will be back at work but with a big smile.
Yep, ditched work early for a well powered session in Brighton. But what really blew my mind was the school of dolphins that suddenly showed up. Epic!
Pic is upside down as its on my phone.
9m rev. 5 years old. Beginner to intermediate kiter. 30 knots and gusting directly onshore. Be careful people!!
Looking at the wind out there today it's an average of 30kn, with gusts probably 10/15kn higher.
And someone puts up a 9m? Not sure of the windrange of a 5yo RPM but probably maxes out at 30kn and that would be a fat ar#e rider with good kite skills.
We've all been there, drove for hours to get to the spot and there's no wind... it sucks. What's dangerous is getting to the spot and there being too much wind for your smallest kite, you have a little voice in your head that's saying don't do it - but it's overpowered by the adrenaline fueled "there's been no wind for what feels like decades" voice.
It's up to us as a community to try to stop these things happening before noobs get the sport banned for the rest of us.
I hope the dude was alright, I also hope that some lessons were learnt.
The guy was ok, didn't seems to hurt himself at all, surprising as he flew past the window of my van and landed in the car park. His kite was well stick in the tree so he didn't get dragged anymore. A few of us untangled him but getting his kite down good luck with that.
It was not a good idea to launch a 9m behind the trees in a wind shadow. I had already decided to was way too mental for my 8m, the only kite out was a 6m and he looked way over powered, it's a long drive back to Melbourne but I still have a kite. Think twice
jAMES WAS ON A 5 VEGAS AND I WAS ON A 5 REBEL AT ABOUT 10 AM. i BAILED AFTER 1/2 HR TOO WINDY BUT JAMES WAS HAVING FUN. THEN WE WENT TO D/B AWESOME ON 5 METRES GUSTING 40 KN. POST PHOTOS LATER ON TRIBECAREW.COM
James storm and i kited at 10 am . james was on a 5 vegas and i was on a 5 rebel. I did 4 runs and bailed as it was gusting over 40kn. James went to town but the waves were too wind blown. We packed up and a few crew arrived wanting to go out on 9s and 6s. we told them no way. Looks like they went any way. We went to d/b and had a great session in 30-40 kn flat water. Anyone got any advice for Apollo Bay area on Sunday? I have to go with the missus and in-laws overnight but will probably bring my gear. Looks W/NW and maybe 15 knots.
