Brisbane's Newest Sailing Area

CQBC – Brisbane Division are proud to announce a NEW Sailing Area in the Brisbane Region.
Located on Macarthur Avenue – Hamilton Wharf Brisbane
The Minister of Economic Development QLD (EDQ) has provided some 15000 Sqm concrete and bitumen flat surface to the Brisbane Division to hold sailing events and establish Brisbane's first permanent home ground.
With a lot of hard work we have been able to come to an agreement, which will see us sailing most weekends throughout the year. The site is also free from any development for the next 10-15 years.
The area is great for any wind direction and with the hard surface provides the ability to sail in light conditions, lighting may also be available for twilight sailing later down the track.
Not only is it on the Brisbane River but also sits in the middle of Brisbane's newest residential area boasting a high level of public exposure.
The inaugural sail was held on Monday the 1st of April. Although only light winds, we were able to managed to have some fun on a short course throughout the day with 10 karts.
All Blokart sailors nearby or visiting Brisbane are welcome to join us for some exciting social Racing which will be held most Sundays. Details will be posted on the CQBC forum under the Brisbane Division area.
We will also be featuring at the Wharf Side Family Day on the 29-30th June 2013, demonstrations and showcasing the sport to the public.
