Good news!
We have trial access to the cleared block next to the corner of Holts Road and Bucasia Road. Entry is from Holts Road west of the roundabout.
Derek from Ezy Vehicle Rentals has given CQBC members an opportunity to trial our karts on the block.
We are not to take motor vehicles onto the cleared area and the land is only to be used when it is dry.
The surface is already level and filled with decomposed granite ready for development.
This is a trial only at this point and we must respect the property at all times.
Saturday 01/05/2010 from 1.00pm is our first opportunity so let all members know.
For further enquiries contact me on 49521889 or 0439775595.

Better news.
The block is now mowed thanks to helpful available CQBC members and the owner is pleased with us so providing we don't damage anything there we can keep using it until building development starts.
Entry is to CQBC members and their guest.
Enjoy.

That's the correct spot.
You did a better job than me trying to get the maps to copy!
We have been giving the block a good lot of use since our first access last Saturday, with a club working bee allowing the whole block to be mowed ready for sailing.
The shape of the block and its raised position gives us all wind directional sailing.
We still need the wind to turn up and so far we have had a good selection with the 3,4 and 5.5m sails all getting a go.
We found out the gravel is a lot more unforgiving to tyres, but that's a small price to pay.
It's been great to be able to turn up at a venue, unload the karts and sail without having to cart it all down to the beach - don't get me wrong, we are spoiled with beaches up here, but it's good to get home and not have to wash our karts down!
The proximity to Bucasia Road gives many new viewers the chance to see our sport grow with thousands of vehicles passing by.
We have already had several people stop to enquire and some have had a go and put blokarts on their wish list.
That map is an old one as we had a lot of grass and weeds to clear and Bucasia Road is now a four lane road to the very rapidly expanding northern beaches area.
I could only wish the block was that clear when we started!
If your ever up this way, contact me and I'll organise some play time.

Darren
