Gidday to all. Athos the 70yo Italian/Australian, his first build,
Having not ever seen one in real life he built his own, IT Worked 
a bit heavy and agricultural, but functioned. He is now about to build a second
and I will steer him to a LLM, also teach him this site where he will make
himself known. He has a passion for Fiat 500 Bambino's, he has a few.
edit....as keen as mustard, as passionate as all Italians

Ask him to post a photo of his bambino's as well. I nearly bought one for $500 many years ago, still kicking myself for not doing so, it was in great condition. I think they're great little cars as well!
looking forward to hearing from Athos too, I remember fondly on my days B.M. (before marriage) of Italian machinery, having tinkered with, driven and enjoyed Fiat 850, 124, 125 and 130 coupes and sedans. never had the good fortune to find a 500 when I had the spare cash.
I always found that Fiats were way easier than my 70's Capri to pull apart and modify for better performance (just loved their twin cam engines)
Also had lots of fun with Fiat derived 4wd's (niva's)
I must admit to having spent a lot of time tearing my hair out due to the Italian's flair for gawdawfully overcomplicated and incomprehensible electrical wiring and dodgy sheetmetal quality control.

I agree. It certainly is Agricultural, Functional looking and I should imagine it wouldn't look out of place at a BBQ.
If he is built squat and broad like most italians I've met it ain't heavy, just solid.
70yro, what is it with us old farts and playing with machines that could rip the Bark off of our butts?? Tell him to go for it I am sure there are one or two odf us that will offer to help out.

Nikrum, the planets have not aligned for me this year,2010, testing has me
less than impressed with my own slant on everything. Interp..... hasnt
worked as well as I wanted, needs more money applied in different
directions. Local testing suggests that a wise man would start on a higher
scale than he has reached at this point in time. Weather, thunda storms,
heavy rain and flooding, and caution of approaching summer heat have
complicated movement across the land mass, for me. There is always next
year, maybe.
So this is why I have taken on "The Italian Job" to help a fellow
experimentalist get moving across the planet, in a Nobel manner. We are
starting with enthusiasm and zeal, and in the end hopefully we [ together]
turn out another professional man and his machine. Encouragement is
helpful to achieve projected fulfillment. I will get some Bambinos pasted for
you all , that are interested. He has 5 including a station wagon, but he can
wise you all on that when I teach him this site. "Ardidiverchy"? Chio !!

Sorry that the weather hasn't been your way but you weren't to know Missy La Ninia was going to visit us this season, well not as enthusiastically as she has Just ask the Qld'ers how their Land Yachting season is at the moment I am starting to think they have a good start into the Sailing or Wind Surfing Sport. All they will have to do is make their seating arrangements a little larger and Presto Amphibian Sailing[}:)][}:)]
