Excellent job!!!
Quick work, too. The pressure from the girlie seems to have worked.....
Send the pics with the mast on it when you get a chance too! If ya have pics of you sailing the thing, Landyacht might give you a degree from the U.of L.L. !!!
cheers, john
EDIT; timing was bad, u posted the boat w/sail pics! sail the thing, and let us know how it went
Is there room in there for you? pull the throttle(rope) in a bit, and tension the mast towards the rear. Should show the thing in top gear.
What does it look like with the mast only in the top part of the luff?
I think you may just be able to get away with not recutting the whole luff, because this is such a big sail (and most of the bend is down low, below the luff cutout area).
This would mean having to extend the luff for the foot of the sail, but I think that would be much easier than recutting the entire luff.
I could very well be wrong though, just a thought I had yesterday.
Looks like there's to much sheeting angle on your sons (I get mine block to block) otherwise looks great. Please post in Landyacht Register, be good to see a couple from overseas in it
Hi guys those yaghts look great just a question on the blocks they seem small do they give you any trouble
At the same time I would like to thank to all of You helping me with this project, especially to Landyacht - for drawings and to Hiko - for consulting me all project till it was finished. Thank You :)
Looking great there mate.
Just a suggestion to protect your masts from damage by the mast step.
It looks like you have a bit of clearance between your masts and steps and even though you have bell mouthed the mast steps it is still a high pressure point on the masts.
If you get a length of PVC plumber's drainage pipe 40 or 50 mm diameter and about 25-30 mm longer than the mast step and put it around the bottom of your mast as a cushion it will help against damageing the mast base.
If the pipe is not a neat fit you can split it along one side to make it bigger or smaller with the split at the front of the mast as pictured here:-
Cisco,
The problem is the mast fits just in it, There is no place to put something around. I just used the wooden stick to fin inside about 1,2 m length. Hope this helps.
As You see on my son Mini it was as a mast extention as well.
Nice job on that North sail vjs. Almost looks like a bought one.
Is that wooden stick the only thing holding up your mast? If so I think you had better re-look at that. I would recommend the fibreglass mast plugs into a larger sized steel tube welded to or slotted over the one on the yacht now. That wooden stick will not last 5 mins.
