Actually it was a reminder to OKIE that ,since yank tanks are longer they have more tailshaft to build landyachts with, and NQ is rare as in Oklahoma.
Im making he assumption that he doesnt drive a Buggy with a fringe on top. Ya need to understand splitty that ya gotta enjoy the forum and any opportunity to drift sideways must be taken.
Kinda like being a politician and wondering why nobody believes you
If you are gonna take it all too seriously, your in the wrong place.
PS love you

On a construction forum you typically have people who enjoy construction with new and/or secondhand recycled materials and can be easily sidetracked with enjoyment of the moment. By the way Landyacht loved the photo of your schooner, Gizmo wonderful post explaining centre of effort positioning for a landyacht (the nugget of gold I got was weight on front wheel),Splitpin looking forward to seeing some of your projects.

Gee, all this time I thought it was Found On Rubbish Dump or
Fix Or Repair Daily

Just in case any overseas readers are unaware of Torana or Holden, they are GM products. Rear wheel drive so they too have tail shafts, not that anyone would ever be likely to build a landyacht from Torana parts

Thanks mate. the buggers have locked off the dam, so that was my one sail for the summer. According to the Mining company, some jet skiers made a mess , spooked some sheep, which the station owner had to shoot , so they closed the dam. Stangely , the Day this was supposed to have happened, I was the only boat out, and the station owner had no sheep in the paddock. Perhaps the mining company , calls anything with a hull "jet ski"
maybe GIZMO would oblige with a diagram for this.

I have the one done by the designer, so we can test the GIZ theory with the real Mc coy. when I did the grip on the decking I used fine sand from a local mound of battery sands and the kids have found 3 specs of gold under the varnish so far. what was this thread again

It's about mast step location. If the kids have found gold on the deck then maybe there is some gold under the masts where they are stepped. If this is the case, according to nautical tradition, the masts are stepped in the right location, all is well and you can ring the bell.
The bell having been rung one may then "splice the main brace", a quick way of saying "Pop the cork out of the rum bottle and throw it over the side, the cork that is not the bottle."
As we all know it is absolutely forbidden to spill rum on the deck of a ship. If the rum is of the correct quality it will dissolve the varnish and then you might lose gold and that would be a bad thing. So the only thing to do is . Don't be greedy[}:)] though, so share it around or the rest of the crew might get and you might end up .
One other mandatory item of gold aboard a ship is the Golden Rivet but we are not allowed to discuss the polishing of that here.

Ok Paul have a look at this.
Mind you the sails aren't exactly straight on in the pic so i might be slightly out.

Mind you there are other factors to consider in this pic as well like

CF Centre of Focus this may swap between the wife and the esky filled with ice cold beer.
CPr Centre of Pride again this may change from the kids on board to the boat itself.
CA Centre of Attention this will often change between the wife, kids, boat, and the beer.
CPa Centre of Passion this will vary between water and landsailing (and the wife)
CR Centre of Resistance this can often refer to what stops the yacht going side ways or the wife stopping you spending more money on sailing stuff.
CE Centre of Effort this the amount of effort to go sailing, get the beer or the wife and often associated with CPa

Dont even need the designers drawing. Well done Gizmo. Its actually about 6" back from where you measured. Ie the centre of the Bilgeboards. Thats 10 points to ya mate.
However, being a schooner, the sails are Jib, Foresail, Staysail( not set in this photo) and the Main aft of midships(just). Helm is well aft, however asteering location just aft of the mainmast is acceptible
