sorry for thelate notce but ABC 3 just showed lake lefroy and some excellent footage of TP1,lil stig and teen stig sailing on the lake .
you might be able to see it on I view.
I hoped bryan would have put up a post to let you know , but he sent me an email yesterday and I couldnt get to a computer.
for thos elocally who would liketo be on TV we will be filming for ABC's Catalyst on the 23rd of november.
its all about geology, landforms and satellites.Oooooooooh and landyachts
Well that was handy Paul, What was the Title of the show?? I couldn't see anything to do with Land Yachting.
Just a note here on yesterdays efforts..
I managed to get The Razor out on Pegg's Beach for an hour or so in not the optimal wind direction but none the less I had a lot of fun with Spin-outs, Broadside slides and Seagull Hunting (They just do not have a sense of humour. Round 'em up, Head 'em out Raw Feather).
Ron
PS; and Seagull Crap..
Shees! So I couldn't see anything.. Hows about posting a the actual address??? Like Copy and Paste..
Please.
Ron
Thanks Paul. A bit cryptic but I think you are meaning that the event will occur on the 22nd?? At lake Lefroy.
Regards,
Ron
the day went off well!!!! filmed all day in perfect winds and salt .
BUT as we were winding down a massive storm was building to the west, and we convinced the film crewto stay and film the lightning.
we kinda got more than we bargained for .instead of the usual dust storm, gust of windand a spot of rain we were lucky to witness the aproaching wind storm lifting salt of the lake!!!!
I sh#t you not it was a wall of white lifting off the lake
when the wind and rain arrived most of the crewgot into the clubhousebut as a addicted wind lover I just had to try to stand up in it. out from the dune the wind was howling and full of rain and sand and as TP1 and I moved out from the dune we eventually ended on hands and knees in the blast, later I found a handful of coarse sand grain lodged under the skin
the problem we have now is that they have filmed the intro to the scientific story they were going to film tommorrow but the lakes now flooded
. of course my camera went flat just as the storm hit, but ive been promised links to the utubes they filmed
Thanks for that Paul, sounds like it could have gotten quite dangerous out there.
Keep us informed please.
Ron
congratulations to all.... from your photos, this has to be
a "SUPER SELL " for landyachting, we are all in shock and aure
Glad it ended well.
We got hit by the storms as well.
Had fire crews busy chasing the lightning for a while, till the rain dampened things down.
Only got 5.5mm of rain, so today aircraft will fly the areas where the lightning struck to check for "sleepers" that will fan up with the wind, when it gets hot again.
Very glad to hear that Rob C, is ok, after his heart attack.
Please don't work him so hard next time.
