Yellow,I was wondering what up and comming events were on the callender this summer for Lefroy, reason being I have bought a new Blowie and currently sailing on my own at Belmont Park race course.
I have struck a deal with the other half in that if I take her to Albany for a weeks holiday she will let me bugger off to Lefroy for a weeks sailing, not a bad trade.
Still looking for any blokarters to get together at Belmont Park
Paul what sort of numbers are you getting each weekend?
After the last 24 hours of rain, rain, rain, there will not be much action on Lake Lefroy until things dry out. There was a lot of rain out at the lake
Hopefully though things should be dried out in time for the SEpt long weekend when traditionally we get a good turn out for our camping/sailing weekend. Per haps we will see you then Andrew?
Families are welcome.
If conditions change and something else comes up it is normally posted in the events section.
Susan
Thanks Susan, what a bummer we are off to Albany for that week end,it was a trade off that I take the family to Abany and later on I was allowed to go to Lefroy on my own at the next long week end to catch up with you guys and sail.
Wind is still blowing, Travis reports the lake is like glass, the first commers are starting to arrive... roll on this weekend.
For those who don't yet know. This Queens Birthday weekend (WA) is always a great weekend out at Lake Lefroy, camping, sailing and more sailing. All welcome.
You would not beleive it - after 12 days of wonderful strong winds and a perfect lake it rained again last night and rained some more. Once again the lake is flooded, clubhouse is a quagmire and the track in is getting chewed up. Those at the lake are packing up this morning and getting out before more rains come.
How disapointing this long weekend was always the best fun. Lots of people would come and camp and sail and race and just catch up and have a good time. Not this year I am afraid
Update on weekend
After the wet start to the weekend, The wind started clearing the lake of water mid morning so we decided to wait to see what happened. We started sailing on the lake about 1pm.
We had a great afternoons sailing followed by a great night.
During the night we decided that we would run the Lightning Nickel class 5 Marathon on Sunday, weather permitting.
Sunday morning the lake was in perfect condition so we collected the insurance fees and run the race with Murray Turner from the sand gropers running out the winner.
This was followed by another great night . packing up Monday morning with lots of smiles all round.
Keep Sailing

Glad you all got a sail after that rain. what kind of area was clear enough for the race?
Sorry I couldnt stay and wait it out. 2 kids were bouncing off the wall with boredom and mud by the time we left on saturday lunchtime
Hi Paul.
The water was cleared to about 3/4 of the way to the end of the causeway over to the quarze island . It was strange sunday we had a steady brease from the north but the water did not get back to the sailing area, I have not seen that before
Cheers,
Vic
