I came across this and was blown away with the possibilities.
I love technology.
I'll take a laser cutter too.
I made this tubing bender to make my class 2 fuselage. Crude but effective.
Porn sites could be shut down from lack of patronage with more clips like that being posted. Very very neat joint - so easy to tack, check and final weld. Not too difficult to produce the CAD files to accompany your square stock when you deliver to the laser cutting firm. Maybe worth considering - taking into account the time and effort to hand cut, align and weld - plus the quality of the end product.
Yeh, there is some great machines out there.
Like your bender US772
Here is one for the "cringe factor" a 150hp lathe.
Well you guys always whip me at the lake with your big wheels, so here is my answer.
EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh.... by the way, they are 56" rims
As a wild guess I would say they are the sides of reels for irrigation hoses.
Notice how even at that large radius the square tube distorts when bent for the circumference.
That is the way it looks anyway.
Ha ha, not sure Vic, just my sick sense of humour I guess.
Very close Cisco and Paul!!!
Yes the ring roller has a rise in the middle of the centre die, to put a dip/valley inwards across the inside of the square tube so it remains pretty square. It does still swell it slightly from 25mm to 27mm.
They are part of the “F.A.R.T's”, I build.
These are "Fill And Response Trailers", that I designed and build for country shires.
The idea is to deploy them as soon as there is a fire and they are set up on a water source. A dam, soak, large tank or creek and they are used to fast fill fire trucks.
Honda driven pump is a 75mm high flow transfer.
The small hose reel is just for self-protection as most water sources are around trees etc.
They bottom fill trucks with a 15mtr x 75mm layflat hose.
The small tank is used to flood the 75mm x 20mtr suction line, and the clear line returns to the tank, to refill it and also to see if all the bubbles are removed. So the unit is primed ready to go when the first truck rolls in empty.
In our local Pink Lake brigade, the ladies are trained to set them up and they do it in about 5 minutes from arrival at the water source.
The photos don't show the 8 mtr telescopic light towers, that go on behind the reel and is fitted with 2 work lights and a green flashing/rotating beacon. This indicates the watering point and first aid officers on the fire ground.
I'm currently building the 14th unit. (Well when the wind is not up anyway.)
Great project there Chook....can see application for all around aust. Where , who
had the original thought........congratulations 10/10
edit.....this will go viral world wide.......It's soooooo good
Our fire brigade had an old tandem 8' x 5' trailer.
It had an old Briggs and Stratton motor with a 1"& 1/2 " pump, rattling around in it and the lines were coiled around it on the floor.
You can imagine the mess when it came time to set it up and prime it with a bucket. (And that was after the motor had been bouncing around and flooded and wouldn't start).
After many trips to fill the bucket and much swearing, I said I'd refine it a bit.
It stemmed from there.
I built one and the word got out.
It refills trucks at 1,100 litres a minute.
Every brigade in the Esperance and Ravensthorpe shires now has one.
Chook.......you a hero today
I can see the headlines.......... Esperance today Febuary 4th 2013

Hi guys, fantastic support here in Esperance. Huge thanks to all involved.
A tough 2 days with only 2 1/2 hours sleep throughout. It's a tough job as "Pink Lake Captain"!!!!
We had it tidied up and the arsonist relit it again this arvo, so still have crews out there.
Thanks for you concern, only one house badly damaged and 6 sheds gone. Lots of fencing etc.
I'm off to bed.
Cheers.
