Actually , lots of good usefull discussion has been happening in the last few weeks, just not here. There seems to be an awful lot of mysterious characters getting in the way of things

Perhaps the site development has progressed to the point that Clinton is able to moveit to its own site? Im confident the guys there could be good reasons, and that the people doing it will be able to do what others before them have talked about ,but not achieved.

Lets hope so. An up and running web front for ALSA should improve things communication wise and it appears new people are getting involved. I hope that they see us keeping an interested eye on the project as a sign of good will. Keep fingers crossed

I still have the idea to try and get a remote landsailer club going oneday for all the lone sailors spread around, saw there wasn't much point though until ALSA was operating and effective again. Just an idea at this stage of course.

I do hope that when the web site is completed it is an Australian site and not just cut and paste from everywhere else.
I wouldn't like to see pictures of overseas yachts that are not even sailing in Australia ie: Sirocco, Manta jnr, or others
I hope that any class rules all are in metric only (as measurements in Australia went metric from 1971) It would show that at least we are up to date and not just puppets of the USA.

Just my thoughts though

Had a quick look in the backyard and the only mysterious items I found were somebody elses sheet rope. Isnt it great to come home and find the weekends salty sails and gear clean and dry

Thanks kids.
. any way , as I said , disussions are happening , but not on this site, simple.
. Did we ever find out who you are splitpin ? or did I miss that post.
Perhaps If I look carefully into the my backyard I might see a gunman in the shadows. Dont hang around out there after dark , ya might stand on something sharp

I think you may be dropping a hint there Landyacht but is there any more info you can throw this way? I'd be happy with something as simple as 'positive' or 'negative'.

Well done with the 1000 posts as well, as for the lawn; it doesn't look anythink like the one outside my window Why does yours look like its had water land on it lately

maybe the hose wasn't used only on the sails or maybe the sails are only an excuse for the water landing elsewhere

hmmmm think it rained cats and dogs over there recently, didn't it? Ask the boys from Greenbird!!! They should have had a go at a sailing record attempt on Lefroy!!

Yeah, I think the sails went up over the lawn as an excuse......or good recycling.

Has it been a particuarly wet year over there? Seems you had many episodes of rain and water on the lake.

Mysterious!!!

I would call it miraculous if my son cleaned up after himself- let alone clean up after me!!!!

Mind you- there have been dark mutterings about "helping" me to clean up my shed- while I am away at work

How do you do it Landyacht?

good training, good example, bribery or threats?

dry as buggery till late winter, then 3 rains of 40-50mm. each rain dryed up in time for the next one, but the rain sweetened the lawn and flushed out all the flourides, etc from the tap water. then a dose of pig poo and mushroom compost as a topdress and the colour changes overnight. The lawn gets mowed weekly, last time with a push mower no catcher, clippings straight back onto the lawn . dont bother with wetta soil as it will eventually water proof your lawn .
we even got stuck in and planted some veges and have our fingers crossed for some summer rain so I can learn to windsurf this summer

Test pilot - we have been told discussions are happening, but who, why and what and where is unknown. Suggest you get in touch with DR, then perhaps let the rest of us know? Good luck

Guys I have tried that approach and the information I got was that it was still being worked on. Hope it happens soon, if it doesn't I think it will be to late as the trust in the organization will be lost. Very dificult being part of an organization without getting any feedback of what is going on.
Live in Hope
Cheers
