Great vid there Vic and impressive performance in such light conditions.

Question:-

Is that the difference in sailing a class 5 as opposed to a mini??

I doubt I could get my mini or blokart moving in 5 knots.

A class5 will normally get rolling a little earlier than a mini mainly due to the larger sail and possibly larger dia. wheels. But the surface has a LOT to do with it, beaches are not as hard as you think.
I saw something recently that even salt lakes are difficult to break speed records on due to the moisture content in the salt.
Class5 yachts (or bigger) are normally more comfortable to sail a bit like a Corolla v Fairlane... they both do the same thing but one can do it a little easier

from experience, minis and blowies will be up and sailing in winds where the 5's are having a serious think about getting the yacht off the trailer
