well done for taking the chance , driving the drive and pulling it off with some great sailing

No rain all weekend apart from a very brief sprinkling late Friday arvo, the winds built up as the weekend went on during the days to be a nice and consistant pressure with out the big lulls which allowed us to explore around 50% of the lake. There was no reckless chance decisions just some well thought out planning and monitoring the local weather stations with help from some of the local SA guys,as i have stated before this was the third time that i have sailed at Lake Gillies and it just keeps getting better each time,so all you guys that are keen to bag an event like this i suggest you get out from behind your key boards and make the the effort to sample the delights of Lake Gillies.
With the help of the local SA guys we are proposing to make this an annual Wind Festival Event open to all who want to use the wind.

Looks like you guys had a Howler, good stuff.
That Wind Festival sounds like a plan if it all turns out for you. I don't know how these things work but it sounds like you could have Planed trips, Speed trials and assorted races all running at once from the size of Gilles. One thing is sure if life gives me the chance I will be there as well, that is providing I don't keep busting bits on the Razor and Cat.

Thanks Port,
matey if the family stop having their bleedin' Dramas I might be able to put a few bucks to one side. I'm not whinging but stating a bleedin' Fact.. I also would need to make sure there are going to be a few others their as well.. You know, to hook a rope to the carcass and drag it back to a morgue should that be needed. Be a hell uv a thing to have one of you poor sods screaming about out there and come upon a Mummified Carcass sprawled out there in the distance I wouldn't be too pleased to think you'd just stand me up, put a flag in me hand and use me as a Turn Marker.. No on second thoughts that would be a Hell of a Compliment
Ron

PS; More pic's of the weekend please.

the weekend was good however i think it should be made mentioned that it did go a little "pear shaped" at one stage i certainly hope that this does not detract from holding another event soon,, i hope "fences" will be mended by then

Beacball for your promotion and suggestion for the sail I see no reason that

you should not get the award for the most productive injection into

landyatching is South Australia this year.

So on my own i nominate you as the originality organizer to "The 1st

Beachball Beach Bash" at Beachball Break campground Lake Gillies.

I'm sure someone will second that.....that is not all it seems #2 event is

coming to the inland beach real soon
