Hi--new member here---
Anyone building thier own landsailer sails? I am setting up to design and build my own sails. My first sail is going to be mainly X-Ply momofilm and some 4 oz dacron. Any experience as to the amount of camber and the position the maximium camber should be from the luff sleeve? Thanx!

if your building from scratch , some of the cleverer folk here will tell you b the camber position of between 25 and 40% and a camber depth of 20% ish.
a deeper sail for grunt and a flatter sail if your sailing on really flat hard stuff.
most of us have been happy recutting windsurfer sails, simply flattening out the depth and flattening the luff
a couple of the guys have worked with sailmakers( like kiwi307) and can give a much more technical answer

Thanks for the help Landyacht. I also have been modifing sails from sailboards (and Hobies) to some great success. Now, I want to go the next step and design my own sails to go with the landsailers I have been designing/building.

This sail will be the first of many. I will keep your input in mind as I start lofting. I will keep those interested informed as I progress thru--design--trials----redesign.

Good winds are forecast for my weekend. Tides are wrong---but, I should get some good, high speed, sailing in. I hope the same for everyone!
