Has anyone got any info on how a class3 sail is cut and the shape to fit a wing mast.
(I think it is board flat apart from that I can find nothing about them) also what type / size rope is sewn into the sail to fit the runner.
from your class 3 build thread, I think it as kiwi307 posted it was flat seamd panels with a 1%luff curve maxing at 33% up from the foot. the bolt rope size will depend on your track size. I would recommend actually buying some proper ally track from a ally mast maker, you can also buy a number of different profiles from caravan annex makers. its the same stuff . then you will know the right size BOLT ROPE.
My machine wont do bolt ropes, perhaps this time you will need to get a sailmaker onto it. maybe a nice airtrack job
Just to be fair we all make mistakes. Seamed not seamd
But I can sew a sail and abbreviate some of the terms, but I cant hang a sail on a mask or haul it in with a sheath
Think I am going to look for a second hand sail for this one at least until I see if the dam thing works.
(fair go guys you know I am only a rock ape underground miner, The only thing I had to write for 40 years was B/F 30+holes /scrape)
have a look at some sites for sailmaking supplies. Im sure you can by bolt rope tape in different sizes ,by the meter. If you can buy the tape and say 10m of flex cloth or 6.5m dacron then we should be able to make a decent sail.
