Hi all
I had a bit of time this afternoon so i wandered around Port Huon and took some photo's of some of the local boats
Lucy (photo 3), Ramrod (photo 20) and the Motor Boat (photo 9) were all built here
Regards Don
All of the boats in the photo's are only 30 seconds away from where we live and there are a lots more moored and tied up at jettys along the river between here and Huonville where i work so i will take a few more photo's of interesting ones and post them also
Lucy in the 3rd photo has just been finished by her owner builder and him and his wife intend to sail her around the world shortly
Regards Don
With Femme Fatale Jeff has just shouted her a new Stratis Ice http://www.doylesails.com/stratis/ice.html main sail to complement the 2 laminated headsails we use so we expect her to go a bit harder this year
Regards Don
I think I'm living at the wrong end of the state Don thanks for sharing pics you can never get enough of looking at timber boats. Go the wooden boats I say!!!
Great Pics Donk
People really look after their boats down there....or your photography is very flattering. I think I spotted a really old Flying 15 in there somewhere....or a very close reseblance.
Yep
In this area there are a lot of people who are interested in wooden boats and most of them are pretty tidy
At Franklin 7 mins up the road there is the Wooden Boat Centre www.woodenboatcentre.com/ where the Huon Kelly was built
