These boats are amazing, one guy talks of surfing down a wave at 40 knots (74 kmh) but says it is bad as the boat is out of control

At other times during the race guys will have the tools out working on repairs to the hull structure. Crazy stuff.

They certainly are, just incredible what they do during the race. At one point they were down below deck listening to a scratching sound. Turned out that the carbon fibre hull was de-laminating in a large section, next thing you see them hoving to with a 30 knot wind in the middle of the south pacific ocean. One guy is lowered down the outside of the hull inserting 30 bolts with small plates through the hull to fix it !!
