, 17 foot of ply couldn't weigh much more than 170kg, the steel keel's gotta be 120kgs alone. (Gees its a small boat)

23 feet , book says 2 tonnes empty, plus equipment and including trailer 3 tonnes.
I do no sail with the trailer, always stay on land.

Whats the green tarp on the foredeck? Is that for catching rainwater?

Hey this is a nice yacht!

I read on your blog you say that they don't make boats like they used to because of the cost.

I agree with you. I am looking at a similar yacht that was made in 1969. It looks a bit messy, but I suspect that it was really well made and could possibly be very restorable. I am still looking into it though.

I think it's all too easy to go and get yet another 28-30 footer (a floating plastic duck), playing it safe, just like everyone else is doing. I think it's good to get your hands dirty and restore the old boats (if possible) and live a dream, instead of just trying to buy a yacht to fit in with what everyone else thinks you should be doing. That's just my 2 cents.

It's an Adams 35 steel hull. Sails very well and is well set-up for single handed sailing I have up graded the boats electrics and head as well as the usual painting jobs. Your yacht is very well found too.

Are you sure on that mate?? Designed displacement according to the "Adams Yacht Design" book is 6.15 tonnes.

She is beautiful though. Does her name mean you are not allowed to play any John Lee Hooker or Muddy Waters music?? That would be a shame.

No it means that you cannot be unhappy what ever the situation. I will re check the displacement. When I pull her out for the antifoul thanks for the weight of her mate.
Dingy Bay this weekend have a good one
