They seem to be the go now?
Does anyone have any good or bad reports?

Only anecdotal that reliability might be an issue. I am keen to get some real evidence as I would like to get a Tackticks wind instrument to use with my tiller pilot. Hard wired is too difficult with the mast installed.

I have tack tick wind on my old timber yacht. The only problem I ever had was the wind speed whirly
Got Broken off by a young lad sitting on the bow I have the wind indicator attached to the pulpit.

They work fine, under nomal conditions!

A few issues are that they don't work in heavy rain and (alot) of water over the deck can be an issue. Also can't have a steel or ally boat if the reciever is below deck.
Also they have a battery which has a solar panel to charge in the masthead unit, a bit of a bugger if it goes flat.
