Just purchased yesterday.
First session in 1 foot runners. What a revelation!! Glides well. Easy to paddle.
Great flat deck for easy standing.

Picks up waves well, even the small stuff a fair way out. Used it today in 1-2 foot. Soon as the wave get's any face comes alive and runs the line.

Get on the tail and turns a treat. Would not suggest as a learner but as a secon dboard. Surfs like a regular short board.

Most impressed!! Will update with more information as bigger waves are encountered. Highly recommended. 6' 80kg average ability surfer. No problems at all.

It's great your enjoying it mate! Looks like you scored some better waves at Walkerville than we did a couple weeks ago.

The 8'6" is much the same just glides really easily.

Will have to get a wave sometime soon.

James.

Hi James
Heading out this Sunday for session2. Looking forward to it. Shortened a spare paddle by 6" to see how it affects the paddling in surf conditions.

Still enjoying the board?

One of these for sale down my way, but surf down here can be hopeless.
How is it on smaller waves, paddle on bay?
I'm only 60kg, 5'8.

Thx

Hi Wrangler.

Moved the board on!
Sold and riding 8 8 JP Australia Wide Body surf or Fanatic Allwave 9 6 on small days.

Just found the Hobie to tippy/unstable when the surf is slop and chop.

Sadly out our way that is 100% of the time at the moment.

On small clean was great, but too few of those sessions, I have not been back to the spot above in over 12 months!

If you check my review on the wide body I have surfed it exclusively in crappy conditions. Still happy with it! The Fanatic is just a stable board and have had it out in up to Overhead!
