I love my Hobie Carbon/bamboo Race Elite, looks like the new Race Raw are sweet!
Sadly I don't think any Board sites in Australia will bother with Hobie?
I see that they are made in USA. I have always liked the look of the hobies and even tried to buy one but no local dealers and would have had to get one from Australia.
I own a 2010 12'6 Hobie Elite Carbon and love it. I use to go padling with a friend who owns a 12'6 STB Bop and i can say the Hobie is faster and feels much better IMO.
The thing is that Hobie's work well on everything, they're fast padlers, can surf waves and are good DW boards (for a 12'6''), but i want to change my board now and i still can't decide between a Hobie, one of the new Fanatic Falcons or maybe a different board.
One thing that boders me is how much faster a board with a displacement hull/bow shape is than the Hobie, but then i see the JM boards haven't such a bow shape and they're fast too so... Can anyone add any light on this?
BTW, Hobie doens't paint the rails where your paddle hits the board, so you wont have your paint job destroyed in few sessions...
Any info on how much these 12'6 Race Raws do weight???
