Hi guys does anyone have any information regarding the Jimmy Lewis Stun Gun 8'2x28, 98 litres.
I was giving consideration to the Naish Hokua LE 8'3 but have concerns about durability so have let that one go so want to look at the Jimmy Lewis as well as trying out the JP 8'2x28 as a comparison.
Cheers for any info.
Ozzie
Can't really help with the 82 but i own the 87 stun gun and without goning into a indepth review i can't recomend the stungun highly enough , i 'm 5"10 and about 69 kgs and for me the 87 is perfect , i personally think it runs better as a quad it really seems to light up great board in all conditions
i've got the 8'7" stungun as well, had it for a year now and can't see any reason to upgrade to anything else, can't fault it
Hi guys thanks for that,
It was Colas who put me onto it and I have to say I have done a bit of searching around and everyone raves about the quality of the construction as well as performance out in the water.
I guess the next question is do any of you guys knows where I can source the boards from and importantly where I can have a demo. I live on the Central Coast of NSW.
Cheers Ozzie
I'm just up the road at Belmont if you want to get a look or arrange a ride. Kracka is a few min away but they don't have demo Stun Guns at the moment. Know someone with the 8'2" who'd answer any questions you might have.
Hi guys,
Well to be honest I have spent a lot of time trying to gather information and it has been a complete waste of time.
Here is what I know or have been able to extract. Kracka no longer have the distributorship or no longer wish to continue with it.
I have made repeated attempts to speak to them and they simply have not called me back. You can draw your own conclusions on this.
I then rang WestOz boardsports over in WA who I am led to believe are looking into taking it over. They have NO stun guns in stock!
I then called SUP Gear Australia and it has to be said that they at least some kudos for calling me back and discussing what my options are.
According to them they dont know if anyone has any stun guns in stock anywhere at the moment!
I found this to be really disappointing and in all honesty I have no idea how the Jimmy Lewis brand is going to get promoted or sold given the
current situation where people are trying to work out distributorship etc. In saying that I cant even see myself getting the opportunity to demo any
of the stun gun range let alone the 8'2.
HGFISH if you could elaborate more mate then I would be appreciative.
Not really sure where to go on this one at the moment. Open to suggestions. But really they do have an issue at the moment and as it stands
good luck to anyone on the east coast of Australia trying to get one of these boards to demo.
Cheers Ozzie
Sorry to hear about the run around when i last spoke to kracka surfcraft they really weren't across it , i think they really couldn' t bothered ,i guess thats clubby culture for you but if i were you go suss out deep sups , they look the goods locally made or maybe laguna bay sups both worth a look
goodluck
I have a 9'2" and an 8'7" if you wanted to have a look / ride. If you wanted to see or talk to someone with an 8'2" I can put you in touch.
Hi Guys,
Okay I have the following to add.
I rang up East Coast Sup which are listed as the final retailer on the Jimmy Lewis site to see if I could make any head way.
They did not have the 8'2 in stock and he also confirmed my initial suspicions. As it stands at the moment the distributorship is heading
over to WA WestOz Board Sports who will take the reins. It is very unlikely that any retailer on the east coast will be able to absorb the
freight cost from WA. This will just further increase the price and its also unlikely that you will get any retailers if any who will stock them
on this side of the country given this. So the likelihood of me being able to demo an 8'2 is about the same as Julia Gillard being elected
the next prime minister!
I would love to have a go of the 8'2 HG so could you PM me some details. Who knows I might be able to organise something with the person
you know.
At the moment there is a big question mark on me getting the Jimmy Lewis. I can definately say I wont be getting the Naish Hokua LE 8'3
as as much as they are touted as high performance boards the talk is they simply dont last and I for one wont be spending two grand on a
board that was described to me today as something of a throw away. With the Fanatic not changing in shape and still supporting those fat rails
I have to put a line through that one. I am not too sure about the Starby in the 100litre mark so that leaves the JP 8'2x28. I might have a look
at the Laguna Bay Sups as my options are running out.
Cheers for all the help guys. Hopefully all this information that I have provided will at least help the next person in the line who is thinking
about getting a Jimmy Lewis which at this stage seems to be beyond problematic.
Ozzie
Hi guys,
Spoke to Tully from Laguna Bay Sups and I think I am going to get a custom board made. Spoke to the guy who seems like a real genuine kind of bloke.
Ozzie
