Peter or WindSurfSnow-
Can you give us more of a comparison of the MC to the LE.
Maybe some pic's side by side.
Also, if the LE is as stable as the MC, faster in the flats, downwinds better why would someone want the MC over the LE other than rider weight?
The MC was always designed for ultimate speed in pure flatwater, relatively narrow, rounded hull with minimal rocker to ensure longest waterline with least amount of drag.
The LE has harder rails, concaves and more rocker which reduces waterline length and increases drag - BUT because the board is narrower, it may just be faster in all conditions - I'm not convinced though, doubt it would faster be in perfect flatwater conditions - I think the MC will still have the edge - but we'll see. Can't tell until we get an LE - so no pics either......
Rider weight is quite similar for the two boards with max rider weight at 85-90kg for optimum use. MC can probably handle a little more than LE.
The Glide at 27" wide will suit downwinding/cruising up to 100+kg. Over that one would have to look at 17' Javelin or another brand.
Thanks Peter.
Think I get it...lol!
If I was to paddle on calm lakes or wind protected waters the MC would be the choice.
If I paddle in inlets, bays and the ocean the LE would be the way to go.
Based on rocker, rail design and waterline length.
Correct?
yes - in theory that would be it.....frothing to get to try the LE.....especially the downwinding which is now in full swing.....
