Hey female newbie here seeking some advise on what board and accessories to buy, I am 5 foot, 45 odd kilos, looking for an all rounder SUP, keen to get practice on the flat before hitting the waves...I've had a look around but someone with experience with SUP's would definitely have a better idea than I do...Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome.
Just a thought. Make sure you get a board that you can get on and off your car comfortably, unless you have a board caddy (ME), like my wife. She only paddles flat water and uses a 12' board. If you want to paddle on flat water and surf, I wouldn't go below 9' long, as anything shorter and you need to change paddle sides all the time or go around in circles, on flat water and it will also allow early entry onto waves.
A lot of the good brands have boards in this range, so there are some good options. One other point, my wife uses a smaller blade size on her paddle (about 7") and it allows her to keep a good tempo without undue stress on her shoulders.

I'm sure DJ will have some good suggestions.

Enjoy

What Sandsy said. Mrs Cartoon is a smidge bigger than you and on-and-off-the-car is a big deal for her (she ended up with an inflatable but that's another story). Note that boards can feel a lot heavier trying to put them on a car after a long session of paddling than they do in a shop
It's the season for new ranges coming out, the big names are roadshowing (or will be soon), your local retailer/s should be able to clue you on in when they're rolling through your area, talk to the guys and try as many as you can.

DJ has hit the spot. The Alana would suit perfectly.

Welcome to the Breeze..

IMO you need something like the Naish 10'6" Nalu..

Serously though at your hight and weight the 8'10'' Mana [Alana] would be a great board for you.

Here.. http://naishsurfing.com/ALANA%208.10%20GS-Womens%20All-around%20Cruising-Wave/

Or something similar in other brands.. Where are you.. Can you demo boards where you are?

This was exactly the kind of board I was looking at, but maybe thinking to go somewhere in the middle with a Naish Alana 9'5"...
Im from the Illawarra Region and am finding it difficult to find some good retailers in my area, I found a couple of places to hire and have lessons, but no good retailer..

Thank you for sharing That is a nice board and from the smile on your wife's face, she seems extremely happy with it. Curious the dimensions? I'm not great at seeing the finer details as of yet.. 10'6" Coreban? Does she go out in the surf and on the flat??

Yeah she was stoked! It's a coreban fusion wahine. It's 9'0 by I think 29 wide and 148ltrs.
It's her first board and she has no problem riding it in the surf and flat water. Plus it's great for her to carry, she's had a demo of the 10' boards and they were way too much. Honestly with your height and weight around the same, 9'0 would be perfect.

Also I'm form Newcastle, but bought that board from east coast paddle boards which is at Barden ridge, which is close to Illawarra.

Hi Rissole,
I am same height & weight as you are. As Dj Suggested the Naish Alana is a beautiful board, lightweight & has an easy 'ledge' carry handle. The handle may be something worth considering if you also have small fingers. I believe the Coreban that Mrs Hoogie has, also has the ledge.
