Thumbs Up

my 14' x 25"ace pro came today. i had a ace but didn't like the canoe feel and my paddle change overs went down the drain.

i decided to get the ast version as i didn't think at roughly 11.5 kgs and carbon version at approx 10.5 warranted the big cost difference.

time trialled all afternoon and came up with a futures 9" hatchet fin placed smack in the middle of the box. the stock fin didn't support the board or help hold its line imo. the jm was fast but again lacked control. the hatchet has more tip area and more foil through out while being fast too. i time trail different fins to get a better idea. a fin might feel good but be slow

with the board running true and really able to paddle through the line the times were equal to anything i did on the ace. could even be faster. maybe a few people didn't try other fins on the ace and decided it was too hard. personally i'm not a fan of those starby stock fins.

after getting jacko out the shop 5 mins and both looking, watching and trying stance positions on the board feet smack in the centre of the handle seems best. thxs jacko

this board is quick, glides for ages and like the ace you can maintain a high end cruising speed without busting a gut. well worth a look at if you like to be 'on' a board not 'in' it

cheers

ps when i get a few more sessions in i might slip the fin back a bit and try it in a light dw er.
