Hi
My friend and I are keen newies to paddle boarding. Both fit females, who are looking for a board thats not a beginners, as we want to be able to grow into it. Mainly flat water paddle boarding in Melbourne. Looking for a mal style board. We've looked at Naish, Starboard and Fanatics and are just getting ourselves confused. Any recommendations on which board / brand would be good for us?
If you're after mal styled boards.. and at your weight.. you should demo a Naish 9'5" Mana.. Here's a pic of Rea (in the hat) on hers down at St Kilda marina.. It's a great all-round board.. It's very stable and paddles flat water great.. They also do a girls version called the Alana.

I have a 10' Mana and it's my most used board.. (I'm 6'4" and 95kgs).

Hi Girls, my partner and I bought a 11'6 SEAK Guy Leech board from Anaconda and are very happy with it. It is a great board to learn on, but is also a great board to get you into SUP surfing. ALWAYS start on small waves! These boards are currently selling at $1100 with bag and carbon fibre paddle. Personally I prefer inflatables- they don't chip, scratch, ding or split in half. They also won't hurt you when they hit you. I have a much maligned 10'6' Island inflatable as my 'main' board (which I love) and a much more expensive Surftech model (which I'm very disappointed with) that I keep for my friends to SUP on. SUP is a fantastic (and very addictive) water sport, but it can also be expensive. Try as many boards as you can before you to decide to buy.
