HELLO I AM FROM COLOMBIA I AM LOOKING FOR ONE OF THOSE BOARDS FOR OPEN WATERS OCEAN SWELLS DOWN WIND AND AGAINST WIND CRUISING LONG DISTANCES, WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS BOARD
Hi Marco,
Let me start this post by being fully transparent. I work for NSP.
Now let me talk about this board and how it became part of the NSP range. I have been riding DC Boards for more than 4 years, like a lot of people I enjoyed paddling in the ocean but mostly at the end of downwind runs I was pretty stoked to finish. Sore feet, sore back, tired etc etc. I spoke to Dale about it and he suggested I try his 14 x 29 as people were really enjoying this board.
He told me "this will be the board that makes you fall in love with down wind paddling". So I got it, and immediately felt more comfortable in the ocean, the rounded bottom nose rather than displacement meant I had control on the bumps and on the first paddle which was coincidentally a 9km ocean race I could opposite steer and control the board well. I did not fall once as opposed to before where I fell very often. I came 3rd in my division in that race and took 2 of those places through the surf break on the way back in. I was already stoked with this board.
The width in the nose and tail makes this board insanely stable, the design allows it to be fast, especially in the ocean where you can relax and paddle hard rather than survive. It links the bumps effortlessly. The deck is super comfortable and the board overall is super forgiving, versatile, paddles well in flat water, surfs well in the break and is perfect in the ocean especially when its big.
Fast forward a bit, I was offered a job with NSP. I wanted to add high end racing designs to the range so I started speaking with Dale (DC). I knew that if this board had been so good for me it would be great for everyone. So this model and others were added to the range. Then Travis Grant who had also worked with Dale before decided to join us. The boards are insane and I will happily take the criticism for saying that if people think I am bias but I offer this, I happily paid my own money for these boards before I worked in the SUP business. In my opinion Dales designs are among the best boards in the world, this is why I chose to buy boards from him before and work with him now.
Those boards look Nice and are available from NSP in Germany. 2300?, decent price for full carbon.
Can get a Fanatic Falcon carbon for 1900?...
If I could test paddle them I'd be enticed to buy, but up here in Sweden, shops that have boards like this wont even demo them...
