i surfed this board out the alley today. reasonably crowded.

what's really surprising is how easy it is to handle. paddling in the bumpy stuff is a piece of cake. paddling over foam is dead easy too which surprises me considering the nose width.

i planned to use this board in beach breaks but today has changed my mind. i can kick turn this board on a dime fast. so if a wave jumps up in front of me or some body falls off i'm on it in a flash and you can take off really late too

. i found i can comfortably weave through a crowd. if i miss a wave dodging traffic its easy to get out and away. i could see surfers were comfortable with my being there, well as much as possible for a standup paddler. i'm not one for getting in amongst it, but today you had to or no waves. i usually hang a bit wide inside then dash across when i see a inside 'grower'.

i do need to find some more go forward then what i'v got atm moment. turns anywhere thou and up and down surfing is there to be had

i ran into murry burton out there and saw him at the beach afterwards. he commented on the board having a really nice plane shape.

i asked him what i could do for some more go forward. he said swap the front fins to the back or get some bigger back fins- bigger than the existing front fins.

he showed me his short board setup yep- small front fins, bigger back fins- interesting .

i don't have bigger skeg fins but a mate lent me his dvs front skeg fins so i'll try it with big dvs fins all round and see how that goes

i will be on this board a lot because it handles so well in the water

cheers

changing the dvs quads around to big at the back didn't work at all.

however jon from surffx gave me a shapers stealth quad set to try that they have been working to develop with shapers - sup quad sets.

stealth s9 fronts and stealth mgx1's at the back.

well the board sizzled with those in. fast and drivey and still loose enough

Thanks LL your review was great
I have a thruster set of the S9 coming from shapers, i will try them on my 9'3. i might even get some of the MGX1 to try as a quad on my 8'9, it needs more drive.
