This maybe should be in the board review section. I have just returned from a surf trip in Indo. I took my brand new JL 9'1 Kwad. On the first day surfing a soft small beachie I somehow lost one of my rear fins. The next day I customized a FCS fin to fit into the Futures fin box (NB. rear Futures fins from quad setup have a slightly different setup to the regular Futures setup and therefore regular Futures will not fit). My first surf after repair job the board flipped during a wipeout and I landed on all 4 fins slashing my elbow and knocking out repaired fin. For the rest of the trip I surfed with only 3 fins. The set up was suited to my forehand and my backhand was at times a bit spinny but no real dramas just less down the line drive. I had plenty of spare fins just no rear

Future quad fins! Hope you enjoy the photos, unfortunately all lefts although had lots of great rights.

When surfing on your forhand did you have no side fin on the bottom turn and a side fin on your top turn?

No DJ other way. 2 fins only inside rail (forehand) 1 on the other side. Forehand waves still got lots of drive and speed on fast waves not so much on backhand. Backhand steep drops went sideways a bit likewise when cutting back backhand but never really to the point where I was really spewing about it. Backhand top turns were good fun !

First of all great first pic , I had the same happen to me on a road trip lost a rear on the quad as long as I didn't stomp on the bottom hand turn it was fine. Makes you wonder about an offset centre rear on a thruster set up to suit a particular wave
