Hey DW,
30 years ago I owned the first original hand shaped board by MR, was a 5'8 single fin and pale lime green in colour. I regret to this day selling it, I think I got $80 bucks for it back then. What a board....
Yep thanks Breezes I really enjoy riding my Single Fin they are bulk fun. I just leave it here with my SUP and 6 thrusters on Namotu just saves bringing them every year and saves me about $600 in excess baggage.
Hears a photo of my 6'10 MR I ride at the Burleigh Single Fin Festival it cost me $200 stoked it's so hard to find a good Single Fin thats over 30 years old that still surfs well. I stole my cosines 6'3'' 1975 Terry Richardson's SKIPP from Wollongong, he hasn't surfed for 25+ years I said I can get $500 for it laugh when I got my hands on the board I said cosine it's mine now the boards worth over $2,000. I'll only ride it in the Burleigh Single Fin Festival if the Rocky is working.
MR is shaping me another Single Fin with fin-box so I can take it to G-Land in August plus I'm going to Maui next February I just wana surf Honolua Bay on a Single Fin.
DW
The surf is one foot in Fiji today a seven day swell is coming Wednesday in the 6ft range
I can't wait till my yacht is ready to sail across the Pacific to these places you keep posting photos of. My first fibreglass board was an MR single fin and I have also had one of his 7'8" Hawaii guns. If I did the big trip I would love to have one of his 7'8" "Busting Down the Door" single fin guns aboard.
Luv ya MR by the way
Ya should have seen the MR 7'8" tri I hsd back in the 90's. It was one of his own Hawaii guns. An absolute Rolls Royce.
I still have a 7'2 MR shaped by Matt Rawson as a prototype to show MR how bonzer concaves work. This is a serious collectors board open to serious offers only.

That 7'2'' MR would be worth around $15,000 A mate of mine from Swansea Heads in Newcastle has MR's 10ft orange and white board he won in the 1986 Smirnoff Wiamea Bay PRO bought it of MR for a thousand dollars MR tried to buy it back because a Japanese buyer offered MR ten grand for it, this was in 1990 Wayne still has the board
