Absolutely sick waves. How good was the one that Blane (?) blew, pulling in deep. Picture perfect.

I was there, well not quite exactly there, but near there. The waves looked like that, not as big, but the glass and the peaks that popped up all over looked the same. I surfed every morning before the family got up and then went and did tourist stuff with them in the arvo. I don't know if it's like that there every week, maybe I just lucked out - I don't really care - the images and the replays in my head of some of the sessions I had will remain with me for a long long time.

Yeah, looks like an insane session. Blane was mainly behind the lense but got one of the sickest backside barrels ever, apparently. It was a boat trip so not sure where it is. Guaranteed we will never find out
They are all riding Hull Rippers - Blane. Austin, Keppa and an one guy I dont recognise.
The shot at the begininning is the best shot I have seen yet of the underside of these new boards. As for you Doggie - you can wait mate! Over the falls! Bit hard to even paddle in at the moment with my shoulder - DICK HEAD!

Oliver thats sick make - you scored! Lucky bastard!

The old fella still has it!

I just surfed outside our accom in Waikiki and Kaanapalia beach in Maui every morning for two weeks. Most of the time it was just waist, chest high, but I experienced perfect glassy conditions 12 out of the 14 days there. Also got to see some nice bigger swells in Honokohau Bay, and Hookipa but there were hundreds out. The waves I saw at Hookipa, reminded me a lot of Bells when it's doing it's thing.

Waves have been small to medium here all winter with only a couple sorta big days. But I tell you what, it's been perfect...

Read some comments... Not everyone out had a hull ripper... Jason with the dar top goofy foot had a 9-8 ripper... Also, that was Kepa charging the late one then getting pitched... That was me laughing while shooting it...

We will never disclose where we surf.... Sorry but we gotta keep empty waves empty...

Best backside wave I ever got on a sup board was that day... Dropped in straight down, snapped under the hook into the barrel on a full set wave, rode the foam ball and made it out... 2 witnesses, Freakin stoked...

Heading out to surf perfection right now again... Like I said, it's been PERFECT but only if your OK with up to 18' faces... No huge waves here for a while...

Hope good waves go to you guys down under.. Aloha, BC

Very jealous been flat as or heaps of wind here. Looks like a lake at the moment.

I reckon the pilots have a lot to do with how boards turn. Not sure about the HR will be interesting to try one.

Shoulder is recovering well thanks Mr Dogman. The lack of decent surf has made it a lot easier. With out a doubt StandUp has helped my recovery. I was flat water paddling last weekend, 3 weeks after popping it.

Piro's we will see some Chambers Hull designs down here very soon. One 3 times world surfing champion has one under his wing and fly's back with it next week. The first boards to come out will be All-round Chambers hulls. Big and wide from 9'6 to 10'6. Hull Rippers in Autumn if all goes to plan.

As for you 'Mr doubting Thomas', 'over the Hill', WA guy. The proof will be in the pudding so to speak. I would be putting my money on Blane once again putting big smiles on everyones faces as he has been since the beginning of SUP time (circa 2006)

One of the latest shots of Noah -

My sickest shot.....PSH 7'11 veneer blane chambers hull design taking my SUP to another level." Noah Yap

Not wanting to get flamed and not trolling.

This video highlights the limitation of SUP surfing IMO-a 'surfer' out there on conventional equipment would have been getting slotted wave after wave, whereas these guys are missing all the barrels and all the steeper sections of the waves-and they're nice waves, great setup and conditions.

Its true. SUP lacks the specific benefits of a short board and Shortboards lack the versatility of SUP. They both have limitations, but with the a major design evolution happening right now (with testing of all styles and lengths in all conditions being part of it) the gap is narrowing.

Personally I ride StandUp for the versatility and know that there is more specific equipment out there if I need it.

arent most of those boards 9.8? what about guys ripping on the low to mid 8's and even those sub 8....i know 2 guys here on the coast that would like to get their 7.3s and at biggest 8.4 a go....

not saying theyd do better than a SB, but maybe more the style your referring to.

The guys that can ride tose 7 ft 8 ft boards are whippets , those blokes dont look like whippetts.I think its silly to comapre short boards to sup , sup will never have the performance of a short board.Mind you i have never ridden a short board , just an observation.Sup is the swiss army knife , all about versatlity.Ridable in almost all conditions.
