Watching Casso's videos over breakfast each morning inspired me and prompted me into action.
Now it's a bit cold for me to be getting the SUP out, what with all of this snow. So, here is a tribute to Casso, even managed to rig a paddle cam using a mobile phone, ski pole and gaffertape - not surfing but as close as I will get until spring.
Paul thats great stuff.only about 40 miles away but youve had way more snow than us.Hope to catch you at rother valley this year.Ian
Nice one "Roger". Love the different angles. Great quality from the mobile phone PoleCam.
Bring on Spring, hey?
Thanks guys - must have walked about 20 miles resetting the camera for all the various shots and then back up the run to slide down, but gave me some practice on our new DV Camera for work and some well needed exercise.
It would have been a better film had my mate hauled hi fat, lazy butt out of bed to assist with the project, but hey it was fun!
Ian - how about a spring BBQ one evening after work - kids, boards, food - bit more fun than plodding up and down solo?
Casso - thanks, am just saving my "pocket money" for a Go Wide Pro ready for ice to melt!
Mac - No probs with boardies - just got to figure how to get them over my salopettes!
Cool vid....but...comeon Roger...never too cold to SUP...
That said...I can't wait until my ass thaws...
Great video RTC and a great pic Stoneaxe. You guys that play in the ocean in those cold climates deserve a medal for enthusiasm(?spelling). I'm a big wus when it comes to the cold. I lived in Tasmania for 3 years (quite tropical compared to the temps you guys get) and I think I went in the water twice.

No need for breather plugs over there Stoneaxe! The board heating up wouldn't be an issue, but I guess it could implode or something!
It gets chilly but its all what you get used to.
Now this is a bit extreme...you think I'm nuts. This is Corran from 2imagine SUP river surfing in montreal...-8C air temp....http://2imagine.net/blogger2009/icesurf3.html
of course...I believe this is the girl you see surfing in the pics....kinda takes the chill off....
