With the sun coming out in Melbourne it was a great opportunity to get out on the Yarra for a stroke..
Mick just can't believe how awesome the view is.. especially the vibrant colour of the river..
It's also a great opportunity to clean up a bit... and a great balancing act as well! Yes, there were a few close calls!
St Kilda SUP doing our bit to clean up..
It's amazing what you find..
but then, SUP is hard work and soooo stressful... Mick needed a drag
Please note: St Kilda Stand Up Paddling does not condone this sort of behaviour
Paddling or stroking as some like to call it makes you rather hungry.. Mick is trying to get a free feed..
These guys look tasty.. hang on.. what did you say? "Where's our man DJ?'..
This one's for DJ
Stunning scenery.. heading back
even St Kilda bay is looking enticing!
Hope you enjoyed guys!!
Hey Rea,
great pics, perfect day for a paddle on the yarra.
Would be great to paddle up to Studley Park and Herron Island.
Added to the must do list.
Say hi to Mick and Phill for us.
Phill
I went for a paddle on the Yarra Monday morning. It was about 6 degrees and the sky was clear.
I headed up past Punt Rd in the sunshine and had a good workout.
Then went into work.
Around lunchtime I got a call from Oliver saying he was heading down to Flinders.
I had a look on the cams and it looked great. Sunshine, no wind and plenty of lines.
Decided to take the afternoon off and joined Oliver down at Big Left.
It was my first time out there and we had the break to ourselves.
We both got plenty of waves and had a ball.
Here's a shot just as we were leaving late in the day.
Hey DJ,
Yes this was from Monday late afternoon.. not sure if you were free. It was a clean up paddle! Hope you guys can come along and join us for the next one!!
Cheers,
Rea
Talking about the cold, I headed to Crunchie Pt this morning and it was 4 degrees when I left home. I put my trusty Ion/neo beanie in to keep the ice-cream headache at bay [ And that's just from the air/wind chill, not the water!]
There was a nice spike in the swell early this morning, so there was finally a few nice solid ones to stroke into.
Found out the beanie doesn't stay on during a decent hold down, but once the sunrise hit, it was pretty warm anyway!
