Anyone interested in a Monday morning paddle?
I'm planning on launching from the end of Aquatic Drive around 7.30 am.
Hoping for some nice glassy conditions. The Bay is always choppy lately.
Alan.
Oh Im out of town unfortunately but have wanted to do this for a while. Have a good one and take some pics!
Alan I'm not sure if you can paddle on Albert Park Lake.. There are signs that say 'authorized boats only'.. and there are plenty of 'no go zones' that are not marked.. I gave up on our paddle for MS day because of all the hassles involved with paddling on the lake.

I asked a friend who sails on the lake and he thought it would be okay to paddle.
I'll just stick to the north end near the sailing clubs and plead ignorance if anyone questions me.
On second thoughts I might give it a miss and hit the Yarra instead.
Maybe we can organise an authorised paddle on the lake in the future.
Hi Al,
A yarra paddle sounds good. I'm in. Rea and I went for a cruise up the Yarra late this afternoon and had a ball. We'll post some pics soon.
Let me know when your going!

Finally went for a paddle on the lake this morning.
Perfect spot for some flat water paddling before work.
The sign there says canoes and kayaks are okay, so I reckon sups are too.
Nice glass Al ! Can't see any problems there.
Who makes up these stupid rules anyway ??
Single Hulls (Meaning no catamarans), and it states No Sailboards. Like, "what the hell", water is water.... People, take action, launch your sailboards and catamarans away from the signs, with fake ID..... Albert Park Lake belongs to everyone!
(just watch out for the alleged broken glass, and avoid doing a "turtle" with you're Cat, as the mast might get stuck in the mud.)
Obviously, power boats, and Jet Ski's etc are pushing the limits....
Ignorance is bliss! (sometimes)
