how is that a turn around? Let me rephrase it then, I would prefer if they were not out there but they are, so I am not ganna get all worked up when they get in the way (and I have to straigten out and paddle back from somewhere that is a long way back out.
Let me just say that after surfing the south end this morning that the alley doesnt have the monopoly on stupidity. I saw and fell victim to some of the most shamefull and pissweak sup surfing that I have ever experienced. In the end we paddled away in disgust and played in some fun little barelling shorey way up the beach. You know, the worst offenders were only average sup'ers but had enough experience to have known better. I am almost ashamed to admit this but its the first time I have told another sup'er to f##k off ! It was a bit of a shame cos the surf was pumping and there were a coupla really nice people out on sups who were not overly experienced but doing a really great job of fitting in and surfing safely.
I dont think the stupidity is isolated to the alley.
There was a bloke on a standup at Snapper/Rainbow on Sunday Arvo that caused a few problems.
I saw him on two waves, dropped in on both. 1st reaction from the crowd.. and i Quote "f*cn C*nut burning everyone". and im sure he got a similar reaction on his 2nd drop in.
The normal crowd was mellow with no hassles except for this guy.
Im sure he thought he was killing it, but unfortunatly his style didnt match his bravado!!!
Only telling it as i see it..
While im at it, whats up with the windsurfers riding through Kidies corner at the alley.
FM, are these guys Heros or what!!!!!!
The Alley is not the only spot, but a focal point of what is happening. Yes it happens at snapper to. I have only SUP'd there a hand full of times. It is a hard place on a SUP due to the reverse sweep and pure numbers in the water. Alot of dropping in goes on there regardless of board type. I have seen a guy out there on a sup, get on waves early, wide, and fade people. Im pretty sure he surfs there regulary on LB's also...so a bit of the local wank factor involved... its a great wave that I cant wait to SUP when its not school holidays or a weekend.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
The straw man fallacy occurs in the following pattern of argument:
Person A has position X.
Person B disregards certain key points of X and instead presents the superficially similar position Y. Thus, Y is a resulting distorted version of X and can be set up in several ways, including:
Presenting a misrepresentation of the opponent's position.
Quoting an opponent's words out of context - i.e. choosing quotations that misrepresent the opponent's actual intentions (see fallacy of quoting out of context).[2]
Presenting someone who defends a position poorly as the defender, then refuting that person's arguments - thus giving the appearance that every upholder of that position (and thus the position itself) has been defeated.[1]
Inventing a fictitious persona with actions or beliefs which are then criticized, implying that the person represents a group of whom the speaker is critical.
Oversimplifying an opponent's argument, then attacking this oversimplified version.
Person B attacks position Y, concluding that X is false/incorrect/flawed.
This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious, because attacking a distorted version of a position fails to constitute an attack on the actual position.
