'Stand Up World Tour
The Trials were completed in epic fashion with Tahiti's David Dorrence taking 1st, Hawaii's Pomai Hoapili taking 2nd, Australia's Justin Holland taking third and Atamu Coti rounding out the last spot for the Main Event tomorrow.'

Justin Holland is a 'Breezer' and did well winning all 3 of his heats to go through to the final where he placed 3, enough to get him through to the main event which starts tomorrow.
The photo below was from one of his heats today and they are expecting the swell to pick up tomorrow.

GOOD LUCK Justin !

great effort , is the world tour still coming to Aus? What happens if the trialist get to the big show are they then a walk up starter for the next one and do they get help financially to travel and compete.

Hi,

There is no help financially, most of them pay there own way unless they have sponsors that pay, They also pay entry fees for the event

Not much hope for a Joe Blow that works, studies or has kids,It's funny that even one of Starboards main men Connor did'nt make the main event, done up by no names i luv that..Go the underdog..

There was even a Kiwi entered this time (Shane Baxter) but he didn't make it past the trials.

Check out how awesome the set up looks

There are some great photos on the Stand up world tour website including main event day one. Worth a look.

Sapinus Pro Tahiti
Justin Holland made it through 5 heats of trials yesterday at the Stand Up World Tour event in Tahiti to make the main event today. He's riding a 8'3 x 27 1/2 x 3 3/4 Nick Blair step rail SUP.
The Main Event is now well underway with off the hook conditions and 10-12 foot barrels. Kai Lenny dominated the 1st heat with a 9.5 ride. Check the blog for more action: http://www.standupworldtour.com/index.php/blog/live-blog-2011-sapinus-

Hey Phill!

The Board he is on in the pictures and the video is a Nick Blair shaped board, if you look closely, it has his logo on the board and it has been confirmed on Nick Blairs Blog. It is just a Nick Blair board with Hobie Stickers all over it ( his sponsor).

Cheers,

Leon.
