Looking at a 9'1 pro in the brushed carbon, anyone have any experience on these, love the idea of reduced swing weight but a bit concerned they maybe too stiff. Cheers.

Great board I have been paddling this board for the last 4months. I an 6' 80kgs and it is a great all round board for me I have ridden it from 1/2 a foot up to a good sold 6'. The Carbon construction is great the board is so light it just rip's around. Most people who ride it comment on how fast it is down the line..
Disclaimer I am currently working for STARBOARD as their East coast demo tour guy!!!
This board has been in Demo from 4 months now and still looks new. If you look at the other boards on the Demo trailer they have the normal scrapes and scratches you would expect from boards that are loaned out the beginners and good riders at public Demo days but the carbon is unmarked.
If you get a chance have a look at the 10'5 Drive in carbon in the STARBOARD Demo van in Perth (demotour.com.au) that board has been used all over Aust for about 10 months now and has held up incredibly!!!!
Hope this helps
Rod

i ride a carbon longboard, is a touch stiffer at the start of the turn but the back half off your turn far superior than glass and gives a far better ride down the line.

Contact scotty at greenline mate - he has a demo one that he has ridden and just happens to be selling cheap I believe.

it wouldn't even be as stiff as a (wood or bamboo or PVC foam) veneer board with glass. and they have been used for years in Clubbies and sailboards

this board is sick ..
stiff not !! the swing weight difference is incredible & I have also been riding it most with a 170 rear center fin & this loosens the tail a little & doesnt detract at all & I actually have been sticking with that size center fin even on the larger days..
Cheers Pete

even thou the brushed carbon presents a super light weight board bigger swell & strong winds were a big concern for me initially, but having ridden it now on a number of days of larger swell with stiff breeze I gotta say there aint too many problems ..

cheers
Pete
