Hello,
Bass Strait stand up paddle club will be running our second comp of the year, next weekend (Saturday 12th May) at Ocean Grove main beach.
The concept is you will get to surf 2 heats (Guarantee). Your first heat will be with any one, it could be the red hot surfer that you look at and wonder how you will beat him. The best part is you don't, it doesn't matter. How it will works, your scores from your first heat will work out your final. If your in the Top 4 scores you go it to the A final, the next 4 scores go to the B final and so on. This way you get to surf with any one at the start and then you get to surf in a final at your level. Its built for fun and to help you ease into a comp format.
Where - to the left of Ocean Grove Main Beach Boat ramp.
When - Saturday 12th May.
Briefing - 8.30am with an 9am start.
So come one come all, new members welcomed and we will be having a BBQ lunch straight after the final.
Check out our new Club hoodies $40 each !!
All competitors must be 2012 Bass Sup financial members to enter.
Hope to see you there!

Yeeeeha
Here she comes boys, weather forecast is a cracker and it looks like we're going to have plenty swell and winds from the West. Depending on what you're looking at, the swell is potentially in the four foot plus range or on the other hand.....frakin ginormous. Either way, should be a bloody great day to be down the coast.
Cheers

Due to the wild weather at Ocean Grove yesterday our Bass Strait Sup club comp was cancelled.
Thanks to everyone who turned up we were stoked to see so many crew , hope we score better conditions for our next comp in July.
We had a vote to see who was keen to run the comp and Leon was amped to have a crack at the lefts on offer and ride the rip back out.
The decision was made to search for a protected wave and have a sup expression session.
Heaps of action shots on the way , just have not received them yet but will post soon.
Rich
So when is the state of origin comp' against the island state happening ? I want a piece of that action !
Yeeeew
Good to catch up with the crew and great to see some new faces at the club comp for the first time. Pity the surf didnt co operate in the morning cos it sure got it's act together in the arvo!!!
It occured to me at one point that we had two current Vicco champs in the Takle boys, multiple vicco and national longboarding champ in Laney, Leon and myself, all goofies and all frothing for some cranking lefts. Maybe we should've downed one of Leons concrete smoothies, thrown ourselves into the rip and had a crack!!!
At the end of the day I reckon everyone scored waves somewhere and went home stoked....as I said, a great day to be down the coast.
Cheers

Great to catch up with some of the boys, well done Rich on keeping the emphasis on fun and participation, Kev for cooking the snags whilst doing the father duties.
see you all next time
Mick

Yeh think we all got a few reasonable waves, considering conditions. A few of us then braved the masses at fishos in the arvo, bad decision to many 8yr olds rippin it apart lol, jeez there cute (as Justin would say) look forward to meeting up
