Howdy Bass SUPers,
Rd 3 off BASS sup club day coming up on Sunday the 8th of July. We will run proceedings at Torquay (Draino's /Pt. Danger).
Depending on conditions we are hoping to run some competitive heats, also hold an expression session too. The goal is to have as much fun and you can pick and choose what you fell like on the day. This is open to any one, some come and have some fun
Also, we have up for grabs a new Rip Curl Ultimate Tide master Watch, this is a lucky dip. So you have to be there to win it..
If nothing else we will have a BBQ and a catch up.
Hope to catch up with everyone then.
BASS SUP CLUB...
Also, Starting time is at 9:30am. Its the place to be if you want a new pimping Rip Curl Tide Watch. Valued at $500....
See you there...
without making any sort of prediction, it looks like a nice size swell with a slight breeze for Sunday....
yeah it's going to be flat ... will there be any boards to demo though? I'd love to try one of those downwinders, only ever paddled shorter surf sups. I'm curious to give something different a go.
Dunno about flat.
Was solid today and Windguru has got it coming up through the day on Sunday. Stranger things have happened and Point Danger is a bit of a swell magnet. But yeah, wouldn't mind trying one of those fangled downwindin racin boardst myself. After all how hard can it be? Leon can do it!!
At worst looks like a bloody fine day for a barbie and some bulls..t. See you there.
Cheers

Thanks for another great day, good to catch up with everyone. Shame about the surf, but top winter weather
From one end of the Surfcoast to the other we were greeted to a chilly Vicco morning
As our luck would have it, the waves that had been hanging round for a few days had disappeared.
The fact that the sun was out (for a change) meant that everyone was still keen to hang around and have a paddle. It was great to see a few families being dragged along too.
Deano was the first to hit the water.
MJ slid into a few on the point.
We were wondering about a collective noun for SUPers as the guys who had paddled way down the coast mixed with those who had stuck around out the front.
As we watched the action on the water, a young fella on his little BMX still sporting training wheels decided to add some Travis Pastrana style action and launch off the end of the beach 'runway' clearing the rocks head first and landing about 4 meters across the rocks onto the sand. Thankfully the only damage done was some sore aggots.
Warwick was busy testing boards.
Everyone got stuck into the ankle slappers.

Big Kev snuck out on Nick's new Quatro for a few lumpy ones on the point.
Thanks to everyone for sticking around and enjoying the day, cheers to the Melbourne crew for making the trip down. Congrats to John Lane for taking out the Ripcurl watch spot prize.
Lets hope we get both sunshine and some good waves for our next club day on the 9th of September.
Will put some more pics up on the blog when I get a chance.

Nice. Some of those little peelers look almost contestable - you guys should have run a 10'6" and over division.
Thanks for the pictures Kev.. There's some great shots there.. Those 12'6" boards with the ice breaking noses would have come in handy in those freezing conditions.. I bet Lummers had his battery pack in his wettie.. .. Bummer I couldn't make it..

OK so surf not great, but better than nothing. First time for me on a race board and paddling k's in one hit, had fun picking up a few strays around janjuc and gained an appreciation for stamina for which I'm sure I have very little at the moment. All in all a great w/end, thank you boys for bbq, boards etc.
