Early morning OG with hardly anyone on the beach

It wasnt long before all the available boards were out

Kristi handing out a few pointer, the number of kids that wanted to try SUP was amazing and most were young girls, which seemed to get the young boys interested???

Nesha, I think she is helping courtney

Leroy on the 10'2 paddler

The wave of the day

Johny stoked on the Allwave had to wrestle him to get it for 10 mins

Not quite sure what jack is looking at its a dad thing?

This was Diannes first wave and she claimed it!

Well another great day was had by all. boards were demoed, snags were sacrificed and we are all very tanned and very tired. Matt Martins fleet of GSI Demo Board got a solid work out and thanks to Warick at RPS for the loan of the Fanatic Allwave.

We kicked off at a little after 8.30am and before we knew it all the boards were out. With the tiny waves on offer it was just perfect for beginners to have a fun paddle and you know what that may just be the ultimate SUP event. Thanks to the Melb crew that headed on down was great to meet people we have seen on the Yarra Paddles and at the Melb races all keen to get out and hit the water.

John, Dianne and Courtney all first time on SUP had a wow of a time Dianne caught umpteen waves and John came up the beach thinking he had done a 1000 sit ups after paddling the Allwave for about 2 hours and loved it.

We had 15 teens try out SUP today and they were all pretty stoked, just to have a go and all came back with huge smiles especially the girls.

I managed to sneak the All wave away for a 10 min session and have to say i really like it too. It has lots of primary and secondary stability and is solid as a sidewalk to stand on. It paddles on like a longboard and is not in the least bit twitchy, but plant your foot on the tail and it wips around quite quickly We only had tiny waves but I believe this board has lots of potential for the Big Brudda or for someone looking to down size from say a 10'6 its a real option for sure.

If the key to a successful event is the number of smiles around the beach then this one was alltime. Tons of passers by including mums dads and kids all hooked in to the demo fleet for their first go on SUP and everyone walked away loving it.

Thanks to Lazza, Sparks (aka Sparkles aka the Green M & M), Rich, Matt, Matt, Kevin, Justin, Nesha, Kristi, Nikita, the Melb Crew, the local crew and everyone eslse for an all time fun session in small waves.

Sorry about the lack of images but we were a few people down due to other family commitments, so everyone was marshalling, scheduling, talking and burning snags often at the same time. Special thanks to Kristi, Nesha and Niki who were a great help with the Kids.

I'm not sure what these guys were talking about, maybe add your own caption!

Thanks for the pictures Phill.. Sorry I missed it.. With a sudden forecast of about 30 knots I chose the down-winder option but with the way the wind and weather ended up it looks like I missed a good day.. Crazy weather yesterday.
