when is some going to develop a BOP style series in Aus.?
Point -the sport is growing at a rapid rate
Bop style is spectator friendly
some one give me $50000 and i put on a huge one!!!!!!!
They will come, i feel the next year will be the year of BOP
didnt some old guy say.....if you build it they will come.
....start rallying the troops.
Not to add a note of seriousness to an otherwise irrational discussion, but BOP works because spectators can see the whole thing. Gerry Lopez and Sparky started off with the idea of having a race visible from the beach that would include going in and out through the surf.
It wouldn't cost anything to start one, other than insurance. If you want international pros to come you need a prize purse, but I bet the first BOP-style race in Australia would attract all the Australian pros even without bucks, just because it would be a fine testing and tuning venue. And the Australians have been kicking ass in the BOP all along.
