Folks,

A closed forum will be held on Friday, 8th November, to discuss any SUP related issues and the future direction of the event. It will be attended by Surfing Australia, AuSup and State representatives.

If you have any issues, ideas etc that you would like raised and discussed please contact your AuSup, State body representative or info@surfingaustralia.com

Thanks

Can you let us know who our state reps are. Is it our team manager?

From what I gather, the state rep refers to someone representing each state's surfing body. I'd imagine for NSW it would be someone like Luke Madden. However you also have a NSW rep on the AuSUP board and that is Casso. In QLD it's Peasey, Greg Kerr in WA, Mags in SA and yours truly for Vicco. So for any issues you want raised, you can either contact your state AuSUP rep or your state surfing association.

Too fast Paul, too fast.... Just like on the water!

Get any concerns or ideas in to your rep. We have a list of items on the agenda already. Let's work together to make the SUP Nationals a great event, building on each year.

Yeah if it blows NE then first half will be cross on and the last 5km will be straight onshore. More than likely it will blow N or NNE so it wont be to bad, it is still a good run but you just have to read the bumps better as the main bumps are going out to sea!!

yes, you have to take the right bumps to get to currumbin. past burleigh to alley the hard part. best bet is to work hard on getting some distance from the shore early

ps assuming they are thinking of a broadbeach to alley course. bumps to be had tho

"The race will have a beach start and finish with starting line positions for each competitor determined by seeding."

Does anyone have knowledge on this re. the BOP?

Sounds interesting. The meeting to decide the seeds could be as entertaining, aggressive and action-packed as the race itself.

You guys have a very short memory
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/auSUP/
You posted on this, or are you several people sharing a Seabreeze profile?

There is a provision for Tasmania to join, should a Tassie SUP club get interested in having a national rep.

Early on there was talk of a flat water section at the end of the marathon. Is this still the case and how far?

A bit of carnage in some brutal conditions for the Technical Races at Currumbin Beach this morning. Congratulations Lincoln Dews and Karla Gilbert on their impressive victories. And also to everyone for battling the course.

Big effort from everyone in today's marathon - starting at Broadbeach and finishing inside Currumbin Ck near the Currumbin RSL. Congratulations to everyone. Jake Jensen took out the men's race, ahead of Beau O'Brien, Troy Pease and Lincoln Dews. Karla Gilbert completed the double, winning the marathon after yesterday's win in the Technical Race. Angie Jackson was second and Terrene Black was third.

Sadly Angie, after working a treat for the races on Saturday, the timing device had some tech issues for the marathon and did not record finish times.
