This would be close. Any better for our normal SW seabreeze in summer?
Did it last weekend in less than ideal conditions and it was a hoot
Did it last night and wil be doing again tonight except I have to stop at mandurah so I can ge a lift home. It's fast even in marginal conditions, pretty lonely out there though, was great to have hilly and tim down on the weekend, definitely the best angle of coast line in the sea breeze I reckon!
It's about time more of u city slickers drove down for a paddle
Ben
looks like there might be a couple of DW runs happening this arvo from Scarborough to Sorrento or Mullalloo leaving at 4pm and 5pm.
Crew pushing out of city 3.30 to sorrento blowing dog off the chain here at the moment
Hilly I agree over 45 then I don't have to race Rog he is looking quick on his new starboard Allstar 25 inch did see him fall in the flat water yesterday at sand tracks next to rocks pretty funny
25 knots should see you in Sorrento in about 15 mins flat tonight... Have fun. I have kids SLSC training tonight will be a sand blast session hope to get out for a late kite.
Strugging to get unchained from the desk and the kids at the moment, need to reasses this work life/DW balance
It was looked at about 3yrs ago.
With the local breeze direction you will be coming in about 15km north at Binningup from what I recall.
id be very keen to do something like this distance. im gonna do the m2o next year so to do some long distance dw runs would be sick. i reckon ben would be too. lets make this happen:)
Looked like you blokes (Hilly, Tim and Marcus?) were having alot of fun on Monday.
Metts had waves. Was good to SUP and windsurf my old local.
There's a paddler who has just refitted a very nice cray boat you know how big the back deck is on those things .and who is having some thoughts on also doing a team Molokai This would be a great test run I will put my 10 bucks in for fuel
That sounds perfect stimo. Surely we could all chip in and make it worth his while. I wouldn't mind starting from busso if it was a better run. It's 50 something kms, I'm sure not being in the open ocean for the first couple wouldn't matter to much.
Damn I wish I still had my old boat Pamala II, it would have been perfect for that sort of thing, 38' and the majority of it deck space.
I reckon the wind angle would be a bit wrong most of the time from Cape Naturaliste and like others have said Busselton or at least Quindalup would be a better option, 50K's is a long time to be paddling mainly on one side.
It is a long cruise from Perth for a support boat though, I reckon a few runs from Rotto would be great and be a whole lot easier to organise
Actually if you were to leave from Busselton or even a touch further East near the Marina or Wonnerup Estuary you might not get quite as good swell (particularly the first section) but it would still be a good run with a decent breeze.
You would be closer to shore so would get by with less or no support.
